Autumn Has Ended

First Published November 13, 2015

Autumn ended this week as the first snow of the season arrived. I watched as a gentle snowfall softly covered the dark rectangles of backyard gardens stripped of their bounty. I drove through the countryside and saw vast expanses of land sections and half-sections covered by a thin layer of snow like icing on a dark chocolate cake – like a parent tenderly covering a child for a long, peaceful night of sleep.

Farewell autumn! Welcome winter!
