October Interlude: Part II
First Published October 27, 2015
And the poem I mentioned in Part 1 that was developing as we travelled? It seems I couldn’t forget the images of the sky I had enjoyed during my September visit to Saskatchewan.
Living Skies
Vast and endless skies,
wisps of cloud accent your blue.
here I find contented shelter
‘though but a speck beneath you.
Spacious, prairie skies,
of you I feel a part;
I’m so like you, you know it well-
I have a restless heart.
Your will is yours alone,
great heavenly dome of blue.
your strength will never bend;
I long to be like you!
Unfailing, living skies
give cold and blaze of sun,
harvest moon and countless stars,
and sunset benediction.
